I think the beaches in Asturias have become some of my favorite anywhere. They are so gorgeous and varied.
The Costa da Morte in Galicia was a whole different world. We visited on this gray, drizzly day, shown in the layout below. It had a lot of atmosphere, but lacked that gorgeous green and blue and aquamarine that Asturias and the northern coast of Spain has. Instead, the peaceful, deserted beaches were surrounded with yellow grasses and scattered colorful blooms. Sadly, I imagine the drought this summer is the reason for the lack of green.
